Randomations are the result of an experiment: I wanted to see what kind of image I could create if every part of it was decided by chance.

I began by drawing a grid and then started throwing dice to make blocks. The first throw determined the width; the second, the height and the third decided the colour. For example, throws of 5, 2 and 3 would make a block 5 squares across by 2 squares down and maybe green in colour.

There were a couple of issues: First, the random throws meant that sometimes the same colour blocks were placed next to each other, making a bigger and different shaped block. Second, although I placed each block in the next adjacent space, sometimes they would not fit without leaving blank (white) spaces. These issues simply became part of the image.
